A well-made, emotional documentary with a positive message and ending.
I found this to be a very moving and important documentary. I have great respect for the bravery of Eddie Haworth FRSA for telling his story in such an honest, personal and unflinching way.
Good for him for surviving such a difficult path in life and finding the strength to turn it around into something constructive and positive. I wish him many more years of both creating joy in the lives of others and experiencing well-deserved joy in his own.

Very impressive doco. An interesting, thoroughly credible central character, with a harrowing story to tell; tempered with a philosophical strength and good humour that is inspiring….. Wow! Eddie Haworth shows extraordinary courage in That Fat Bloke from Bolton, sharing his traumatic childhood abuse and its subsequent impact on his life. To have now reached a point where he gives the gift of happiness to children in remote villages in Thailand—through the clown-based entertainment routine he’s refined over decades—is just an enormous feat. We hear about victims of sexual abuse on the news, but the details of what they suffered—what it was really like, and how it has truly affected their lives—is not the story we usually hear. But this is the story Eddie tells, an important and memorable story, and it’s told with candour and simplicity. Inspiring.
