I took these shots of Manchester from about 12 miles away on a very misty and rainy New Year's Eve.

Hidden within this image of greater Manchester are many thousands of gravestones over the heads of countless human beings who have no more New Year's Eve's to celebrate...

This made me think that, despite being alone, I should wish myself another year of survival and happiness on this planet before I start pushing up the daisy's under my own headstone.

And come rain or shine, I wish all other single people just as much happiness as I have acquired through self therapy and extensive world travel, since my dear lady-wife left me in the 90s, and another ex-partner was brutally murdered on the 23rd of December 2017...

Those who have yet to lose their soul mate, should maybe give them an extra big hug tonight...
those who have never had a partner and are lonely, might try to consider themselves lucky or clever enough to have escaped the pain of losing a loved one...
all of us might take a moment away from the telly or the pub and remember that...
"We are a very long time dead!"

I humbly suggest that we all make sure to live our lives to the full before our own time comes...
Happy 2024 and beyond, from a simple minded survivor...
