Christmas New Year 2024

Here's a copy of my Faceache post on the 25th of December 2024.

Christmas Day is difficult for many people including me since my past partner was murdered by her son on December 23, 2017. Like many, I spent the day visiting the main cemetery and a small churchyard near where I grew up in Bolton. My mother and too many old friends rest in the cemetery and I visit them as often as possible.

Today, I took my camera, via Queens Park, and found solace in capturing some moody images. I also appreciated hearing some kind words from fellow bereaved people who didn't mind me taking photographs in the cemetery.

All in all, I have enjoyed my Christmas day alone and hope my friends and Faceache followers enjoy the festive season in their special way. For those alone, maybe for the first Christmas time, I truly hope you will, one day, find happiness within as you learn to accept your loss and start to move forward. After all... We only die once but we live every day! Happy new year to all of you!

With temperatures hovering around 6'c and very foggy, I decided to take my trusty Nikon for an 11,000 steps walk there and back to Doffcocker Lodge in Bolton. A perfect day for shooting misty moody images of the cold waters and birds who don't seem to mind how cold it is...
